Welcome to the Department of Chemical Engineering Universitas Indonesia
Established in 1981, we are one of the highest-ranking chemical engineering departments in Indonesia and have been accredited by the Indonesian National Accreditation Agency (BAN), ASEAN University Network (AUN), Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE), and Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).
The department has 30 academic staff with around 750 students consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Our main mission is to provide the best quality education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level and provide broad-minded knowledge and become a technology pioneer in the fields of chemical and biological engineering.
We affirm our commitment to the importance of undergraduate programs and recognize the importance of teaching in the classroom and in the laboratory.
In the field of research, a department composed of Sustainable Chemical Technology, Bioprocess Engineering and Product Development has represented the interests of our research to develop more sustainable processes for energy and chemical products. This department has a history of maintaining a strong tradition of research and the quality of support from four research groups. They have received an extraordinary increase in research funding in the past five years, and have provided the largest proportion of contributions received from the University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Engineering.
