Areas of current research interest is the environment, the use of natural materials as herbal products, and alternative energy from MFC (Microbial Fuel Cell) and MDC (Microbial Desalination Cell).
Biofiltration
Biofiltration has gained widespread support as an ex-haust gas control technology that is economical to treat waste gas streams containing low concentrations of volatile organic and inorganic compounds. Biofiltration involving immobilized microorganisms in the form of biofilms in porous media filter. Exhaust gas is transferred from the air flow into the biofilms that grow on the filter medium and will be degraded by microorganisms.
Natural Products Extraction
Research focused on the use of natural materials in extraction process, isolation, activities assay, and development of herbal medicinal products as anti-hypertensive, anti-cholesterol, and anti-hyperuresemia.
