Welcome to the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Indonesia

Established in 1981, we are one of the highest-ranked chemical engineering departments in Indonesia and have been accredited by the Indonesian National Accreditation Board (BAN), ASEAN University Network (AUN), Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE), and Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).

This department has 30 academic staff with around 750 students consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Our main mission is to provide the highest quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as impart broad-minded knowledge and be a technology pioneer in the fields of chemical and biological engineering.

We affirm our commitment to the importance of the undergraduate program and recognize the importance of teaching in the classroom and the laboratory.

In the field of research, the departments composed of Sustainable Chemical Technology, Bioprocess Engineering, and Product Development have represented our research interests to develop more sustainable processes for energy and chemical products. The department has a history of maintaining strong research traditions and quality support from four research groups. They have received an extraordinary increase in research funding in the last five years, and have contributed the largest proportion of the total funding received by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia.
