Course Description

This course is designed to enhance the scientific writing skills of doctoral candidates in engineering, with a focus on preparing manuscripts for publication in international journals. Students will learn about the process and conventions of scientific writing, including the intricacies of crafting high-quality research articles, the submission process, drafting cover letters, responding to reviewers, writing “our response,” and ethical considerations in scientific writing.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Develop a scientific article based on their research topics in their doctoral studies.
  • Ensure the scientific article is related to the research field/topic undertaken in the Ph.D. program and is ready for submission to reputable or accredited national/international journals and/or proceedings.
