Course Description

This course is a continuation of the Chemical Engineering Modeling course and is designed to provide a deeper understanding of modeling and simulation techniques in chemical engineering. The course also includes discussions on recent developments in chemical engineering modeling and simulation as well as challenges in their application in industry. Students are expected to develop strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as skills in using simulation software.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Develop physicochemical model systems in chemical processes.
  • Solve these models using numerical methods with the assistance of software programs.

Course Content / Syllabus

  • Empirical modeling and physicochemical systems in chemical processes.
  • Linear and non-linear algebraic equation systems.
  • Simple differential equations.
  • Initial value problems and boundary value problems.
  • Partial differential equations.
