Course Description

This course explores the processes and technologies involved in the efficient transportation and end-use of natural gas. Students will examine the infrastructure required for transporting natural gas, including pipelines, liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, and storage facilities, as well as the challenges of maintaining safety, reliability, and environmental standards. Key topics include gas compression, regasification, distribution systems, and the economic and regulatory considerations in transporting natural gas across domestic and international markets. The course also covers various applications of natural gas, from power generation to industrial and residential use, with an emphasis on optimizing efficiency and minimizing environmental impact. Practical insights are provided through case studies on current natural gas transportation networks and utilization practices.

Course Learning Outcomes

Analyze several options for the use of natural gas for both energy and feedstocks.
