Course Description

This course aims to provide an in-depth exploration of efforts to mitigate global warming in line with temperature targets set by the IPCC and COP 21. The primary focus is on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), integrating the latest technologies to reduce CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere. Additionally, emphasis is placed on Carbon Capture Utilization (CCU) for the production of fuels, chemicals, and other commodities. Learning is conducted through interactive lectures and active methods such as small group discussions and problem-based learning. Assessment includes individual assignments, group projects, a midterm exam, and a final exam. The course is presented in Indonesian. The objective is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of negative carbon solutions and cutting-edge technologies for addressing global climate change challenges.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Students are able to articulate the importance of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions issues, as well as the contribution of CCS technology in addressing climate change.
  • Students are able to identify the CCUS supply chain and the sectoral development of CCUS technology.
  • Students are able to understand the role of CCUS technology for energy system decarbonization using energy system modeling.
  • Students are able to design CO₂ utilization processes.
  • Students are able to analyze the processes of CO₂ capture, transport, and storage.
  • Students are able to evaluate social issues, policy analysis, economic aspects, and business models of CCUS.
