Course Description

This course is designed to understand the raw materials for making graphene, methods for making advanced materials, especially carbon-based materials, namely graphene and its derivative products, the properties of advanced materials, applications of graphene and its derivative products. methods useful for engineering, with a focus on the manufacture and use and current technologies used for carbon-based products such as graphene and its derivatives. Students will learn about the process of making advanced materials, especially carbon-based materials, and the latest technology in developing these products as well as the uses of these materials in the engineering, catalyst, energy or industrial sectors. After completing this course, students are able to create advanced materials and use them according to engineering needs in the engineering field. This achievement was achieved through several stages: (1) Knowing the processes and methods for making advanced materials, especially carbon-based materials (graphene); (2) Determine the method for making advanced materials; (3) Literature review and state of the art; (4) Writing literature reviews related to advanced materials and their uses; (5) Submission of scientific articles. The language of instruction used is English. Media and learning modes: offline synchronous.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Apply the concept and utilization of carbon-based materials, graphene and its derivatives, including their properties, raw materials, and preparation methods (top-down and bottom-up), to solve problems.
  • Develop processes and methods related to the development of advanced materials for new applications and improving current technology.
