Course Description

This course introduces the principles and methods for controlling and treating gaseous waste emissions. Students will learn about air pollution sources, pollutant characteristics, and the technologies used to manage emissions from industrial processes. The course covers regulatory standards, air quality management, and advanced control technologies to minimize environmental impacts. Emphasis is placed on sustainable and efficient practices, with case studies on real-world applications.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and classify sources of gaseous pollutants and understand their environmental and health impacts.
  • Analyze and apply emission control technologies for various pollutants, such as particulates, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds.
  • Design basic systems for air pollution control that meet regulatory standards and optimize pollutant removal.
