Course Description

Students can explain the development of herbal technology, separation technology, herbal formulation basis, herbal regulations, and the differences with other pharmaceutical products.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Explain what herbal technology is, including the use of herbal plants, herbal toxicology, and its application to the herbal industry.
  • Explain the process of transforming herbal plants from raw materials into products for the herbal industry.
  • Apply knowledge of mathematics and science, particularly in the herbal field.
  • Design components, systems, processes, and products related to herbal technology while considering technical, economic, social, health, safety, and environmental aspects.

    • Preparation of tinctures, extracts, powders, and other dosage forms
  5. Herbal Regulation

    • Regulatory frameworks for herbal products in different regions
    • Standards and safety considerations in herbal medicine
