Course Description

The Plasma and Ozone Technology (POT) course is an elective course held for undergraduate students in the 7th semester and odd semesters for postgraduate students. This course is designed to provide direction and practical experience on the use of PT and/or OT for students who will take an undergraduate thesis (S1) or thesis (S2) in the final semester. The basics of handling/ ability, skills and use of POT given in this course are also equipped with theoretical knowledge of basic electronics (direct current, DC) and basic high voltage (alternating current, AC). At the end of the lecture, several practical examples are given as well as general knowledge about the application of POT in the chemical and/or electronics industry. The learning method used is interactive lectures and skills practice. Students will be given material in the form of lectures, practical examples and basic skills practice accompanied by discussions and questions and answers. The main components of the final assessment are divided into three parts: (a) general knowledge and theory tested in the mid-term exam, (b) practical skills/crafts presented or demonstrated in class, and (c) cooperation, oral presentations and writing of papers presented in the final term exam. Although all 201 of the above activities are expected to be the result of independent work, cooperation between students in completing practical assignments and presentations is still expected.
