Course Description

This course focuses on process safety design, including the creation of PFDs and P&IDs, equipment selection, and implementing protection layers. Students will learn inherent safety strategies like minimizing, substituting, moderating, and simplifying risks, with case studies to apply the concepts.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Interpret and develop PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Select equipment and protection layers for safety.
  • Apply inherent safety strategies to minimize risks.
  • Support process safety with appropriate documentation.
  • Analyze process safety design through case studies.
