The Chemical Engineering Department takes part in research activities with the theme:

“Sustainable chemical and bioprocess engineering for energy and product development.”

The research theme is supported by four research groups: Designing natural and chemical products, sustainable energy, industrial bioprocess engineering, and process intensification. Research activities in the Department of Chemical Engineering have received various types of research funding from the government to support student research activities.

Sustainable Energy Laboratory

The Sustainable Energy research group is making efforts to increase the sustainability of energy supplies, reduce greenhouse gases and pollutant emissions, improve energy efficiency and increase the use of non-conventional renewable energy and fossil energy. The research theme in this research group is focused on materials for energy, clean burning, hydrogen production and cell fuel, energy storage, clean fossil fuels, coal bed metane (CBM), renewable and bio-based energy, sustainable energy systems and policy analysis
